Police are searching for a bald man who allegedly stole a licensed firearm belonging to a retired police officer in Couva on Tuesday.
According to police reports, at 1.40 pm, the 55-year-old victim was at his fruit stall along Exchange Estate Road when he last saw his black canvas tactical bag.
The bag contained his Glock 19 firearm, his Firearm User's Licence (FUL), 30 rounds of 9mm ammunition, two 9mm magazines, and his Trinidad and Tobago Police Service badge and identification card.
The retired officer told police that the bag had been placed on a table inside the stall.
After reviewing CCTV footage, he allegedly saw a bald man enter the fruit stall pretending to be a customer before taking the bag and walking away.
The suspect was described as brown in complexion, bald, and was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt, dark blue short pants and a pair of slippers.
