Claxton Bay teen charged with firearm and ammunition offences

A 17-year-old Clax­ton Bay ju­ve­nile has been charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion fol­low­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to firearm-re­lat­ed of­fences re­port­ed on Tues­day.

The ju­ve­nile was ar­rest­ed fol­low­ing en­quiries con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers of the South­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion was con­duct­ed by PC Abra­ham, un­der the su­per­vi­sion and guid­ance of In­sp Wilkin­son and Sgt Singh.

Fol­low­ing com­ple­tion of the in­ves­tiga­tive file and in­struc­tions from ASP Pacheco, PC Abra­ham went to the Oropouche Book­ing Cen­tre on Thurs­day, where the charges were laid against the ju­ve­nile.

The ju­ve­nile was charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion, con­trary to Sec­tion 6(1) of the Firearms Act, Chap­ter 16:01.

The mat­ter is sched­uled to be heard at the Fyz­abad Chil­dren’s Court to­day.
