A 45-year-old Barataria woman was hospitalised after she was beaten by bandits during a home invasion on Saturday afternoon.
Police said the woman was at her Ninth Avenue apartment at around 2.40 pm when two bandits entered through the front door and demanded valuables.
The woman was beaten with a pistol while one of the bandits stole her cellphone and $18,200 in cash.
The bandits then fled the house in a silver Nissan B15.
Officers of the Barataria CID responded and took the woman to hospital.
