Two teens among three held for Kelly Village home invasion

Two 18-year-olds were among three sus­pects held in con­nec­tion with a home in­va­sion in which a quan­ti­ty of valu­ables and cash was stolen from a fam­i­ly at their Kel­ly Vil­lage home on Fri­day night.

Po­lice said a 29-year-old man was alone on the sec­ond floor of the house on Boysie Trace at around 7.40 pm when he heard the fam­i­ly’s pet dog bark­ing.

He then heard loud bang­ing and, on check­ing, no­ticed the sec­ond-floor door had been prised open, but did not see any­one.

The man re­port­ed that C$400, a Cana­di­an pass­port and a quan­ti­ty of jew­ellery had been stolen from the house.

Of­fi­cers of the Ca­roni Po­lice Sta­tion vis­it­ed the scene and gath­ered ev­i­dence.

Hours lat­er, of­fi­cers of the Mul­ti Op­er­a­tional Po­lice Sec­tion (MOPS) re­ceived in­for­ma­tion on the lo­ca­tion of the sus­pects and went to a near­by river­bank, where they ar­rest­ed the trio, all of whom are from Ca­roni.

The sus­pects re­main in cus­tody and are ex­pect­ed to be charged.
