Three shot in Arouca attack

A shoot­ing in Arou­ca on Sun­day night led to the wound­ing of three peo­ple, in­clud­ing one man who is in crit­i­cal con­di­tion.

Po­lice said the trio was walk­ing along Thomas Trace, Arou­ca, around 9 pm when they passed the home of a man po­lice iden­ti­fied as a “known drug of­fend­er.”

The vic­tims told po­lice that a black Kia Soren­to drove near them and a gun­man got out of the ve­hi­cle and shot them.

Passers-by took the wound­ed peo­ple to hos­pi­tal, where one man was treat­ed for gun­shot wounds to his head, shoul­der, mid­sec­tion and groin.

An­oth­er vic­tim was treat­ed for wounds to his left shoul­der, right thigh and groin.

The third re­ceived mi­nor in­juries af­ter a bul­let re­port­ed­ly grazed his head.

Of­fi­cers of the Arou­ca CID, the North-Cen­tral Di­vi­sion Task Force and the Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tions (CSI) Unit vis­it­ed the scene.
