Man held after prison search finds contraband

A 38-year-old man was ar­rest­ed dur­ing a prison search op­er­a­tion at the East­ern Cor­rec­tion­al Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion Cen­tre, San­ta Rosa, on April 20, 2026.

Mem­bers of the Na­tion­al Drug Task Force con­duct­ed the ex­er­cise be­tween 10 am and 2 pm on Mon­day, as part of ef­forts to pre­vent pro­hib­it­ed items from en­ter­ing the fa­cil­i­ty.

Act­ing on in­tel­li­gence from the Spe­cial In­ves­ti­ga­tions Unit, of­fi­cers searched the com­pound and re­cov­ered 85 cig­a­rettes and two cell­phones, which they seized.

The op­er­a­tion in­volved of­fi­cers from the prison ser­vice, work­ing along­side the task force.
