Flow Trinidad has donated hundreds of personal care and hygiene items to patients receiving palliative care at the Caura Palliative Care Unit.
The items were collected through the telecommunications company's Pink Friday initiative on October 23, which invited employees to wear pink and donate supplies for patients.
The donations were handed over to directors of the Trinidad and Tobago Palliative Care Society on October 26.
President of the society Saty Seemungal said the initiative demonstrated how organisations could support people facing health challenges.
“Through these initiatives, we are recognising that care takes many forms - from empowering people with the information they need to make informed health decisions to extending compassion to those who need additional support,” she said.
The donation formed part of Flow's Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities, which also included an educational session for employees in partnership with the Pink Hibiscus Breast Health Specialist Centre.
Healthcare professionals spoke to staff about breast cancer, screening options, warning signs and the importance of regular health checks.
