Two men charged with Fyzabad double murder

Two men have ap­peared in court charged with the mur­ders of two men fol­low­ing an al­ter­ca­tion in Fyz­abad last month.

Busi­ness own­er Vic­tor Del­wyn and Trinidad and To­ba­go De­fence Force sol­dier Shan­don Wood­ley, both of Fyz­abad, ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Am­brose Per­sads­ingh in the South Crim­i­nal Court on Fri­day.

They were charged with the mur­ders of Richard Mc David and Anslem Nicholas, who died at the Siparia Health Fa­cil­i­ty on Au­gust 21 af­ter they were al­leged­ly in­jured dur­ing an al­ter­ca­tion with a group of men in Fyz­abad.

Two male sus­pects were ar­rest­ed on Sep­tem­ber 9 in con­nec­tion with the deaths.

Del­wyn and Wood­ley were charged by Cor­po­ral Grif­fith of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions, Re­gion Three, on Sep­tem­ber 10, fol­low­ing ad­vice from Act­ing Deputy Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions An­ju Bho­la.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tions were su­per­vised by Su­per­in­ten­dent Steve Per­sad and In­spec­tor Teeluck, with as­sis­tance from of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions, Re­gion Three.

The mat­ter was ad­journed to Oc­to­ber 30.
