Man forced into car after assault

A 27-year-old man was ab­duct­ed af­ter be­ing struck and as­sault­ed in Bam­boo Set­tle­ment, Bam­boo #3, Val­sayn, on Mon­day night.

Po­lice said Mark Singh was walk­ing south along Bam­boo Boule­vard near Ram­nar­ine Trace around 8:12 p.m. when a sil­ver Nis­san Ti­i­da with par­tial reg­is­tra­tion 713 came in­to con­tact with him, caus­ing him to fall.

A masked man then ex­it­ed the rear left pas­sen­ger side of the ve­hi­cle and chased Singh north along the road­way.

Po­lice said Singh fell again, af­ter which the man al­leged­ly beat him about his body and forced him in­to the Ti­i­da.

The ve­hi­cle then drove north with Singh in­side.

Po­lice lat­er said that around 12:10 a.m. on Tues­day, Singh was walk­ing along the West­ern Main Road near the Care­nage Po­lice Sta­tion when he saw a marked po­lice ve­hi­cle and re­port­ed the in­ci­dent.

He was tak­en to the St James Med­ical In­fir­mary, where he re­ceived med­ical at­ten­tion. He was list­ed in sta­ble con­di­tion.
