Woman pistol-whipped in Barataria home invasion

A 45-year-old Barataria woman was hos­pi­talised af­ter she was beat­en by ban­dits dur­ing a home in­va­sion on Sat­ur­day af­ter­noon.

Po­lice said the woman was at her Ninth Av­enue apart­ment at around 2.40 pm when two ban­dits en­tered through the front door and de­mand­ed valu­ables.

The woman was beat­en with a pis­tol while one of the ban­dits stole her cell­phone and $18,200 in cash.

The ban­dits then fled the house in a sil­ver Nis­san B15.

Of­fi­cers of the Barataria CID re­spond­ed and took the woman to hos­pi­tal.
