Three men have been arrested after police seized 35 cannabis trees during an intelligence-led anti-crime operation in Tobago on Monday.
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, officers attached to the Tobago Divisional Task Force conducted the exercise under Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. Shield between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the Scarborough district.
Acting on intelligence received under the Emergency Powers Regulations, 2026, officers went to Friends Field Trace, Calder Hall, Scarborough, where they discovered and seized the cannabis trees.
Police said three suspects were arrested in connection with the find. They are a 36-year-old electrician of Pumpmill, Scarborough, a 28-year-old office assistant, and a 41-year-old self-employed man, both of Friends Field Trace, Calder Hall, Scarborough. All three were arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis.
The operation formed part of the TTPS' ongoing efforts to target illegal drug cultivation and trafficking across the country through intelligence-driven policing initiatives.
The exercise was spearheaded by Assistant Commissioner of Police Singh and coordinated by Senior Superintendent Kirk. It was led by Assistant Superintendent Bacchus, Inspector Mohammed, Woman Acting Sergeant Gordon-Harris and Sergeant Hernandez, with supervision provided by Woman Corporal Alfred.
Officers from Task Force Area West carried out the operation with assistance from personnel attached to Task Force Area North and the Scarborough Police Station.
The TTPS said Operation R.E.S.O.L.U.T.E. Shield continues to focus on disrupting criminal activity through coordinated enforcement exercises and intelligence gathering.
Police did not indicate whether charges had been laid against the three men up to the time of the media release. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
