The body of an unidentified man, riddled with gunshot wounds, was discovered on a roadway in Petit Morne Phase Two, Ste Madeleine, early this morning.
Officers from the Ste Madeleine Police Station were contacted around 6.40 am by a resident, who reported that his friend had discovered a body near his home.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the bloodied body near LP#17, with gunshot wounds to the face, head, upper chest and upper back. The victim was estimated to be in his 20s.
The victim was wearing a white T-shirt with a handprint and skull design on the front, a pair of black denim jeans, a pair of red, green and black Gucci slippers, and a gold-coloured chain around his neck. Crime Scene Investigators attached to the Homicide Region III Office recovered eight spent casings and three projectiles at the scene. Police also found $20 and a Marvin Gaye hat in his possession.
The victim was described as being of African descent, brown in complexion, slim built, about five feet, 11 inches tall, with a goatee beard.
Homicide Region III officers are investigating.
