Two women were tied up and threatened after bandits broke into their Claxton Bay home early Monday morning.
The victims, aged 36 and 72, were asleep in separate bedrooms around 2:30 a.m. when the younger woman was awakened by an intruder who covered her mouth and held her down.
Police said one of the men ordered her to remain quiet, warning: "Don't move or else I will kill she."
The assailants, who were dressed in dark clothing and wore face masks and gloves, then took the women to the elderly woman's bedroom, where they were tied to a bed with tie straps.
The intruders locked the bedroom door and left them there.
The younger woman eventually managed to free herself and, upon checking the house, discovered it had been ransacked.
A quantity of jewellery, cash and cellular phones was stolen.
Investigators believe the bandits gained entry by removing louvre panes from a window.
Officers of the St Margaret's Police Station are continuing investigations.
