Teen killed in Moruga crash

A teenag­er died in a road traf­fic ac­ci­dent along Ed­ward Trace, Basse Terre, Moru­ga, at 3am on Sun­day.

The Moru­ga Sec­ondary School stu­dent, whose name has not been re­leased, had been at his grand­moth­er’s home when a friend ar­rived and picked him up.

Ac­cord­ing to rel­a­tives, the dri­ver ear­li­er pulled the ve­hi­cle’s own­er from the dri­ver’s seat and took con­trol while the car was parked out­side Ram­per­sad’s Bar in Basse Terre.

They said the group was head­ing along Ed­ward Trace to drop some­one off when the dri­ver al­leged­ly lost con­trol of the speed­ing ve­hi­cle, caus­ing it to leave the road.

The teenag­er died at the scene, while the dri­ver re­mains hos­pi­talised.
