A senior police officer has reported receiving threats from a man charged with firearm-related offences earlier this year.
The acting superintendent made a report at the Rio Claro Police Station on Sunday.
He said the accused, who was charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition about six months ago, remains before the court.
The officer reported receiving information that the man wanted to “drop” him and another person, a civilian.
He said he interpreted the remark as a threat and feared for his safety and that of his family.
Police are expected to patrol the homes of the officer and the civilian as investigations continue.
