Four men have been arrested and several stolen items recovered following a robbery with violence against a 45-year-old bar proprietor in San Juan on Sunday night.
Police said the incident occurred around 10.30 pm on October 25, when the victim parked his silver Nissan Navara along Real Street, in front of his home.
As he was walking towards his house, he was approached by two masked men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
The armed suspect reportedly pressed the weapon against the victim’s body and announced a robbery.
A struggle ensued, during which both suspects allegedly struck the man several times about his body.
The assailants reportedly escaped with a wallet containing $1,200 in cash, personal documents, bank cards, a Samsung cellular phone, vehicle keys and other personal belongings.
They then fled on foot through an abandoned temple before heading west along Real Street.
The victim subsequently reported the incident to officers at the San Juan Police Station.
Following the report, officers of the Home Invasion Unit intercepted a black Nissan Tiida hatchback in the El Socorro area.
The vehicle was occupied by four men, aged between 26 and 40.
Police searched the occupants and the vehicle, during which several items belonging to the victim were reportedly recovered.
The four men were arrested and taken to the San Juan Police Station as investigations continued.
Police have not indicated whether the four men were among the two suspects who allegedly carried out the robbery or whether further arrests are expected.
