Man killed after reporting to Maloney police station

A 25-year-old man from Mal­oney Gar­dens was mur­dered short­ly af­ter vis­it­ing the com­mu­ni­ty's po­lice sta­tion on Fri­day evening.

Ja­mal Shep­pard was walk­ing to his home on Gull Ter­race, Mal­oney Gar­dens, af­ter re­port­ing to the po­lice sta­tion as part of his bail con­di­tions when he was at­tacked around 6.50 pm.

A white car stopped near him and two men got out and be­gan shoot­ing at him.

Shep­pard at­tempt­ed to es­cape by scal­ing a wall, but the gun­men fol­lowed him and shot him sev­er­al times be­fore re­turn­ing to the wait­ing ve­hi­cle.

He died at the scene.

Short­ly be­fore the shoot­ing, Shep­pard re­port­ed­ly stopped to talk to a woman he knew and told her that he be­lieved he was be­ing fol­lowed when he left the sta­tion.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to Shep­pard's mur­der are con­tin­u­ing.
