Grande schoolboys suspended after fight on first day of school

Four sec­ondary school stu­dents have been sus­pend­ed for sev­en days af­ter they were in­volved in a fight on Mon­day af­ter­noon, fol­low­ing the first day of the new school term.

Po­lice sources con­firmed that a no­tice from the school’s prin­ci­pal di­rect­ed the boys to at­tend the San­gre Grande Sus­pen­sion Cen­tre dur­ing the sev­en days they will be away from school.

Guardian Me­dia was al­so told that the boys will be un­der the su­per­vi­sion of TTPS Com­mu­ni­ty Of­fi­cer PC Fe­lix Per­sad as part of the Youth De­vel­op­ment Pro­gramme of the TTPS Com­mu­ni­ty Polic­ing Unit.

Sources said three of the boys and their par­ents were sum­moned to the school, while the fourth stu­dent was rep­re­sent­ed by a par­ent.

Footage of the fight, which took place out­side a San­gre Grande pri­ma­ry school, was cap­tured and sub­se­quent­ly shared on so­cial me­dia.
