Four secondary school students have been suspended for seven days after they were involved in a fight on Monday afternoon, following the first day of the new school term.
Police sources confirmed that a notice from the school’s principal directed the boys to attend the Sangre Grande Suspension Centre during the seven days they will be away from school.
Guardian Media was also told that the boys will be under the supervision of TTPS Community Officer PC Felix Persad as part of the Youth Development Programme of the TTPS Community Policing Unit.
Sources said three of the boys and their parents were summoned to the school, while the fourth student was represented by a parent.
Footage of the fight, which took place outside a Sangre Grande primary school, was captured and subsequently shared on social media.
