Thirty‑two people were arrested and more than 100 warrants executed during a major police operation across the South Western Division on Monday.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) confirmed that the Tri‑Divisional Warrant Operation ran from midnight to 6:00 p.m., targeting individuals wanted for outstanding warrants. Officers executed 104 warrants in total, including Traffic Court (TAC), affiliation, and committal warrants.
Those detained include 31 men and one woman, ranging in age from 20 to 63 years. The arrests spanned several communities, including Siparia, Fyzabad, Penal, Oropouche, Cedros, La Brea, Point Fortin, Rancho Quemado, Guapo, and Cap‑de‑Ville.
The operation was spearheaded by ACP Remy, Senior Superintendent Thompson, and Superintendent Jaggernath. It was coordinated by Assistant Superintendents Forbes, Corrie, and Lewis, and supervised by Acting Inspector Lewis‑Atherton. Officers attached to the South Western Division Court and Process Branch also played a key role in the exercise.
Police said the initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to bring offenders before the courts and enhance public safety. By focusing on outstanding warrants, the TTPS aims to reduce crime and ensure accountability among individuals who have evaded justice.
Authorities emphasized that warrant operations are critical to maintaining law and order, particularly in communities where unresolved cases can contribute to instability. The TTPS noted that the arrests and warrant executions represent a significant step in strengthening public confidence in law enforcement.
The South Western Division continues to be a focal point for police activity, with officers pledging to sustain operations that target offenders and uphold community safety.
