Valencia man shot dead near home

A 26-year-old man was shot dead near his home in Va­len­cia on Sun­day night.

Po­lice said res­i­dents re­port­ed hear­ing gun­shots along Palm Road around 7.50 pm. Of­fi­cers re­spond­ed and found the body of Da­le­on La­fon in the yard of a near­by home with mul­ti­ple gun­shot wounds.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors from the Spe­cial Ev­i­dence Re­cov­ery Unit (SERU) processed the scene and re­cov­ered sev­er­al spent 9 mm and 5.56 mm shell cas­ings.

A dis­trict med­ical of­fi­cer vis­it­ed the scene and pro­nounced La­fon dead at 9.50 pm.

The Re­gion II Homi­cide Bu­reau is con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the killing.
