Man charged with stealing car after teen dies in accident

A man has been grant­ed bail with sure­ty af­ter he was charged for steal­ing a car that was in­volved in an ac­ci­dent which end­ed with the death of 16-year-old Adin Bap­tiste.

The man was charged with lar­ce­ny mo­tor ve­hi­cle of a Hyundai Ma­trix by Cpl Gopaul of the Moru­ga Po­lice Sta­tion and ap­peared be­fore Mas­ter Sookraj Goswa­mi the Princes Town AJI­PA Court last Thurs­day.

The sus­pect plead­ed not guilty and was grant­ed $20,000 bail with sure­ty.

As part of his bail con­di­tions, the sus­pect is ex­pect­ed to re­port to the Moru­ga Po­lice Sta­tion be­tween the hours of 6 am to 6 pm the sec­ond Thurs­day of every month and re­main at the giv­en ad­dress.

He is ex­pect­ed to re­turn to court on Au­gust 17 for the next hear­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports Adin -a form three stu­dent of the Moru­ga Sec­ondary School - was sit­ting in the front left pas­sen­ger side seat of the Hyundai Ma­trix when it crashed in­to an elec­tric­i­ty pole.
