Unidentified man found shot dead in Ste Madeleine

The body of an uniden­ti­fied man, rid­dled with gun­shot wounds, was dis­cov­ered on a road­way in Pe­tit Morne Phase Two, Ste Madeleine, ear­ly this morn­ing.

Of­fi­cers from the Ste Madeleine Po­lice Sta­tion were con­tact­ed around 6.40 am by a res­i­dent, who re­port­ed that his friend had dis­cov­ered a body near his home.

When of­fi­cers ar­rived at the scene, they found the blood­ied body near LP#17, with gun­shot wounds to the face, head, up­per chest and up­per back. The vic­tim was es­ti­mat­ed to be in his 20s.

The vic­tim was wear­ing a white T-shirt with a hand­print and skull de­sign on the front, a pair of black den­im jeans, a pair of red, green and black Guc­ci slip­pers, and a gold-coloured chain around his neck. Crime Scene In­ves­ti­ga­tors at­tached to the Homi­cide Re­gion III Of­fice re­cov­ered eight spent cas­ings and three pro­jec­tiles at the scene. Po­lice al­so found $20 and a Mar­vin Gaye hat in his pos­ses­sion.

The vic­tim was de­scribed as be­ing of African de­scent, brown in com­plex­ion, slim built, about five feet, 11 inch­es tall, with a goa­tee beard.

Homi­cide Re­gion III of­fi­cers are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
