A US $10,000 ransom has been demanded for a Chaguanas man who was snatched on Saturday night.

According to police, Albert George Navarro Arcia, 30, went with a teenager to sell cheese in the Waterloo, Carapichaima area in a blue Nissan B13.

While at the meeting spot, a group of people approached them and took Arcia into another vehicle nearby and drove off.

The teenager ran off and made his way to the Chaguanas Police Station, where he reported the incident. Sometime later, the victim’s sister received a WhatsApp message demanding US $10,000 for his return.

The Freeport Police Station and the Anti-Kidnapping Unit are continuing investigations.
