The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has extended authorisation for private motorists to use the Priority Bus Route (PBR) until 11.59 pm tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2.

In a statement today, the ministry said light motor vehicles only will continue to have access to both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the route between Arima and Port of Spain.

The temporary measure was first introduced from 2 pm today in response to transportation challenges caused by the ongoing maxi taxi disruption.

The ministry advised motorists to comply with all lawful instructions from police officers and obey traffic signs while using the corridor.

Drivers were also urged to exercise due care and attention while travelling along the route.

The ministry said the extended arrangement will remain in effect until 11.59 pm Tuesday
