Man held after Port of Spain stabbing

A woman was stabbed and an­oth­er man beat­en dur­ing an at­tack in East Port of Spain on Sun­day night.

Po­lice said the woman was lim­ing with a friend at a par­lour along Nel­son Street around 8 pm when a man known to her ap­proached and be­gan stab­bing her.

A by­stander who tried to in­ter­vene was al­so beat­en dur­ing the at­tack.

The sus­pect fled the scene but was ar­rest­ed a short time lat­er by po­lice.

He was tak­en to the Wood­brook Po­lice Sta­tion and is ex­pect­ed to be ques­tioned and charged.
