A 25-year-old man was killed and two others wounded in a drive-by shooting in Arouca on Thursday night.
Police said Adrian Meade was sitting in the front passenger seat of a white Honda Fit with two other men on Royal Promenade Road, near a bar, around 11 pm when a white Hyundai Elantra pulled up nearby.
Gunmen in the Elantra reportedly opened fire on the men before driving away.
Meade was killed in the attack, while the two other occupants of the Honda Fit were wounded.
Police said the driver of the Honda Fit drove away from the scene before stopping near Market Street.
Officers of the Arouca Police Station and North-Central Division responded and were told the wounded men had already been taken to hospital by ambulance.
A district medical officer later visited the scene and declared Meade dead.
Investigators recovered several spent 5.56 shell casings and nine 9mm shell casings at the scene.
The Honda Fit was later towed to the Special Evidence Recovery Unit (SERU) in Cumuto for further analysis.
Officers of the Region II Homicide Bureau are continuing enquiries.
