Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander says, despite this morning's brazen attack in which a police officer was found dead in the San Fernando Municipal Police Station, he remains confident in the T&T Police Service (TTPS).

Responding to questions hours after Cpl Anusha Eversley was found dead and a quantity of firearms and ammunition were missing, Alexander said he has to await the outcome of the current investigation.

Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro, meanwhile, said he does believe the incident was a targeted attack against law enforcement.

Pressed as to whether this incident could lead to a curfew being introduced, and more so that the country is currently under a State of Emergency (SoE), Guevarro said no.
