Woman raped near Arima Velodrome

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the rob­bery and rape of a woman by two men in Ari­ma on Sun­day evening.

Po­lice said the woman was walk­ing her dog some­time be­tween 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm when she asked two men where she could buy loose cig­a­rettes.

The men told the woman that they would show her, how­ev­er af­ter walk­ing for a few min­utes, the men grabbed her and pulled her be­hind a tree near the Ari­ma Velo­drome where she was raped.

The men then stole her cell­phone be­fore run­ning away.

A re­port was made and of­fi­cers of the Ari­ma CID are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
