Two killed, three injured in Malick shooting

Two men have died and three oth­ers were in­jured fol­low­ing a shoot­ing in Mal­ick on Fri­day af­ter­noon.

Re­ports in­di­cate that res­i­dents of Sev­enth Av­enue heard sev­er­al gun­shots short­ly af­ter 1 pm. When they checked the area, they found five men ly­ing near a pink house along the road­way.

The vic­tims had sus­tained gun­shot wounds, with two suf­fer­ing crit­i­cal in­juries. Emer­gency re­spon­ders and po­lice of­fi­cers were called to the scene and all five men were tak­en to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex for treat­ment.

De­spite ef­forts by med­ical staff, two of the vic­tims lat­er died.

Up to late Fri­day, in­ves­ti­ga­tors had not re­leased the iden­ti­ties of the de­ceased, and the mo­tive for the shoot­ing re­mained un­clear.
