Tobago toddler’s body found in sea after going missing

A fran­tic search for a miss­ing tod­dler in To­ba­go end­ed in tragedy this morn­ing af­ter a body was seen float­ing in the sea off Good­wood.

Rel­a­tives of two-year-old An­ge­lo To­bias be­came alarmed on Mon­day night af­ter re­al­is­ing the child was miss­ing from a home along Good­wood Main Road.

Po­lice said around 7.30 p.m., the tod­dler’s moth­er and her boyfriend made checks at the house and dis­cov­ered he could not be found.

Of­fi­cers said a body was lat­er seen in the ocean around 6.30 a.m. to­day, and ef­forts were un­der­way to re­trieve it.

Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the in­ci­dent.
