Teens among four held after guns found in Morvant car

Two teenage boys were among four peo­ple ar­rest­ed in Mor­vant on Sun­day af­ter po­lice found two firearms and 20 rounds of am­mu­ni­tion in a car.

The ar­rests were made dur­ing an op­er­a­tion con­duct­ed by North East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force of­fi­cers be­tween 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sep­tem­ber 13.

Po­lice said the op­er­a­tion, dubbed Op­er­a­tion Res­olute Shield, fo­cused on the Sec­ond Cale­do­nia, Ve­gas, Cipri­ani Av­enue, Chi­napoo and Pitch Road ar­eas.

Dur­ing the ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers went to an area in search of a red Hyundai be­lieved to have been used in a rob­bery ear­li­er that day.

They said they ob­served the ve­hi­cle and al­so saw a brown Nis­san Sen­tra with four oc­cu­pants near­by.

The oc­cu­pants and ve­hi­cle were searched, po­lice said, re­sult­ing in the seizure of a Smith and Wes­son re­volver con­tain­ing four rounds of .38 am­mu­ni­tion and a Beretta PX4 pis­tol fit­ted with a mag­a­zine con­tain­ing 16 rounds of 9mm am­mu­ni­tion.

The four peo­ple ar­rest­ed were two boys, aged 15 and 16, and two men, aged 20 and 33. All four are from San Juan.

Po­lice al­so seized both ve­hi­cles as the in­ves­ti­ga­tion con­tin­ues.
