Six murders overnight keep South homicide detectives busy

Homi­cide de­tec­tives were kept busy overnight with six mur­ders record­ed in South Trinidad, in­clud­ing a dou­ble and triple killing.

One of the vic­tims has been iden­ti­fied as Mic­ah Joseph of John Jules Street, Fyz­abad.

The 26-year-old man was stabbed to death dur­ing an ar­gu­ment with an­oth­er man who is al­leged­ly in­volved with his for­mer girl­friend. Joseph had gone to Easy Street to drop off his chil­dren when a dis­pute es­ca­lat­ed in­to vi­o­lence.

Po­lice have de­tained a sus­pect.

Around 1:20 am, three men were shot dead in­side a house at Sixth Street, Corinth Set­tle­ment, Ste Madeleine.

A teenag­er told po­lice that he had left the house to walk his two dogs and, while re­turn­ing through a track, heard about 15 gun­shots. He then found his cousin, Clar­iey King­foo, ly­ing on his back in a pool of blood at the en­trance to the black front gate, his fa­ther, Mar­tin Har­riper­sad, 43, ly­ing on a bed, and his fa­ther's friend, iden­ti­fied on­ly as Joe, slumped on the bed­room floor. All three were al­ready dead.

In­for­ma­tion on the oth­er two mur­ders re­mained sketchy up to pub­li­ca­tion time. Pre­lim­i­nary re­ports in­di­cat­ed that two men were shot dead near FCB along Pe­nal Rock Road, close to the Pe­nal Po­lice Sta­tion. Fur­ther de­tails were not im­me­di­ate­ly avail­able.
