Security officer stabbed to death after confrontation in Princes Town

A 39-year-old se­cu­ri­ty of­fi­cer was stabbed to death dur­ing an al­ter­ca­tion in Princes Town on Sun­day af­ter­noon af­ter con­fronting a woman and the man she was with, po­lice said.

Stephen Jack of Ext. 3 Lal­lo Trace, Chin Chin, Cunu­pia, died while un­der­go­ing emer­gency treat­ment at the Princes Town Health Fa­cil­i­ty.

Po­lice said in­quiries re­vealed that around 3:20 pm, Jack ar­rived at Char­lotte Street in a sil­ver Nis­san AD Wag­on, which he parked along the road­way. He asked a res­i­dent about a woman who lived in the area. While speak­ing with the res­i­dent, Jack saw the woman and a man walk­ing out of Char­lotte Street.

Jack ap­proached the pair and an ar­gu­ment en­sued. Po­lice said the man told Jack to leave, but the con­fronta­tion es­ca­lat­ed in­to a fight. Dur­ing the fight, Jack was stabbed in the ab­domen, chest, thigh and back.

The man and woman then walked away while Jack was tak­en to the Princes Town Health Fa­cil­i­ty, where he was pro­nounced dead around 4:05 pm.

The sus­pect, of Char­lotte Street, Princes Town, was lat­er ar­rest­ed by of­fi­cers of the Princes Town Po­lice Sta­tion at the cor­ner of Wa­ter Lane and Cacique Street. Po­lice al­leged they found a wet grey and black flick knife in his right front pock­et.

Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Re­gion Three are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
