One killed, two injured in Sangre Chiquito shooting

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a shoot­ing at East­ern Main Road, San­gre Chiq­ui­to, which left one man dead and two oth­ers fight­ing for their lives at hos­pi­tal yes­ter­day.

Of­fi­cers iden­ti­fied the mur­dered man as Mi­ka An­nisette, of Mal­abar.

Po­lice said around 3.30 pm, res­i­dents heard gun­shots. They then saw a white AXIO out­side a house with the wind­screen rid­dled with bul­lets and blood on the ground.

CCTV footage ob­tained from the area lat­er showed what re­al­ly oc­curred. The white Axio, with the dri­ver and two oc­cu­pants, was ap­proached by gun­men in an on­com­ing ve­hi­cle. The dri­ver of the Axio re­versed the ve­hi­cle on­to a com­pound, and an oc­cu­pant at­tempt­ed to run to safe­ty. How­ev­er, three sus­pects wear­ing masks, long-sleeved shirts, and armed with high-pow­ered guns emerged from the oth­er ve­hi­cle and opened fire. An­nisette died on the spot, while the two oth­ers were se­vere­ly in­jured.

Po­lice were con­tact­ed and en­sured the in­jured were trans­port­ed to the hos­pi­tal. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are on­go­ing.
