The National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (NGC) says it did not sponsor a concert held on Saturday at the Queen’s Park Oval, despite claims circulating on social media.

In a statement issued today, the company said it became aware of posts and images suggesting it sponsored the May 2 event, but stated this was not the case.

NGC said it has not sponsored any concert or event held at the venue, and the suggestion appears to have arisen from NGC-branded signage visible near the stage.

The company explained that the signage was part of a longstanding commercial arrangement with the Queen’s Park Cricket Club (QPCC), under which NGC facilitated the purchase and installation of a digital replay screen in exchange for a leased corporate box and branding rights on the screen.

NGC said the agreement with QPCC lasted more than 12 years and was terminated in September 2025. It added that the arrangement is unrelated to any events hosted at the facility.

The company said it is now making arrangements to remove its signage and branding from the Queen’s Park Oval.
