Police are currently at the scene of a murder at the Queen’s Park Savannah (QPS). The victim, who has been identified as Masud Prosper, 49, from Belmont, was shot multiple times at around 5.30 pm while he sat in a black Lancer car, which had been parked in the parking area in front of the food court.

Relatives say he had gone to pick up his nine-year-old son from football practice when the shooting occurred. The boy reportedly witnessed his father’s killing.

While the incident forced some people to abandon their daily exercise, many others continued their normal routines.

Food vendors continued setting up as usual, serving customers who were unaware that a man had been gunned down a short distance away.
