An argument ended with the wounding of a 54-year-old man in Curepe on Friday night.
Police said the man got into an altercation with his sister's boyfriend who shot him in his chest on Abdool Lane, off the Southern Main Road, after 10 pm.
Police said the suspect got into a white Toyota Aqua that was parked nearby and drove off.
Police said the wounded man fell in a drain and damaged a water pipeline causing the water to spray around him.
Police took the wounded man to hospital where he was treated and listed as being in stable condition.
Investigators found a gun believed to have been used by the attacker and several spent shells at the scene.
