Kesar meets with Touchstone Exploration

Min­is­ter in the Min­istry of En­er­gy, Ernesto Ke­sar, met with ex­ec­u­tives of Touch­stone Ex­plo­ration Trinidad Lim­it­ed on Mon­day.

Dur­ing the meet­ing Touch­stone pro­vid­ed up­dates on its cur­rent op­er­a­tions and out­lined fu­ture plans for its ac­tiv­i­ties in Trinidad and To­ba­go. The com­pa­ny al­so gave a brief re­port on its work across the acreage it op­er­ates in­clud­ing progress made since first pro­duc­tion from the Or­toire Block. Touch­stone re­stat­ed its fo­cus on re­spon­si­ble de­vel­op­ment op­er­a­tional ef­fi­cien­cy and long-term in­vest­ment.

The Touch­stone team in­clud­ed Pres­i­dent and Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer Paul Baay, Di­rec­tor Dr Priya Mara­jh and Ex­plo­ration Man­ag­er Xavier Moo­nan.

Ke­sar reaf­firmed the Gov­ern­ment’s po­si­tion on main­tain­ing com­mu­ni­ca­tion with en­er­gy stake­hold­ers. He said the Gov­ern­ment re­mained com­mit­ted to en­sur­ing a reg­u­la­to­ry en­vi­ron­ment that sup­ports in­vest­ment in­no­va­tion and com­pet­i­tive per­for­mance across the sec­tor. He com­mend­ed Touch­stone for its con­tri­bu­tion to the in­dus­try and en­cour­aged the com­pa­ny to con­tin­ue ad­vanc­ing ex­plo­ration and pro­duc­tion work.

Both the Min­istry of En­er­gy and En­er­gy In­dus­tries and Touch­stone Ex­plo­ration stat­ed that they re­main com­mit­ted to col­lab­o­rat­ing on ef­forts aimed at en­hanc­ing val­ue in the en­er­gy sec­tor. They not­ed that con­tin­ued work in on­shore ex­plo­ration and pro­duc­tion will re­main an area of fo­cus as both par­ties seek to strength­en the coun­try’s en­er­gy de­vel­op­ment.
