Minister in the Ministry of Energy, Ernesto Kesar, met with executives of Touchstone Exploration Trinidad Limited on Monday.
During the meeting Touchstone provided updates on its current operations and outlined future plans for its activities in Trinidad and Tobago. The company also gave a brief report on its work across the acreage it operates including progress made since first production from the Ortoire Block. Touchstone restated its focus on responsible development operational efficiency and long-term investment.
The Touchstone team included President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Baay, Director Dr Priya Marajh and Exploration Manager Xavier Moonan.
Kesar reaffirmed the Government’s position on maintaining communication with energy stakeholders. He said the Government remained committed to ensuring a regulatory environment that supports investment innovation and competitive performance across the sector. He commended Touchstone for its contribution to the industry and encouraged the company to continue advancing exploration and production work.
Both the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries and Touchstone Exploration stated that they remain committed to collaborating on efforts aimed at enhancing value in the energy sector. They noted that continued work in onshore exploration and production will remain an area of focus as both parties seek to strengthen the country’s energy development.
