Trinidad and Tobago’s very own Kes The Band will make its debut on the highly-acclaimed NPR Tiny Desk Concert series. The performance will air on May 8 at 7 AM on NPR Music’s YouTube channel.

With an average monthly viewership of 44 million across all digital platforms, the series offers musicians and singers the opportunity to perform stripped-back, intimate sets for a small, live audience.

This will be the second time a T&T soca act will be featured, following soca powerhouse Machel Montano’s 20-minute set in January 2025.

The performances are filmed at NPR Music’s Headquarters in Washington, DC in the US.

The band’s team says it will showcase the “depth, soul and evolution” of the its sound after 20 years in music.

“Through a carefully curated set alongside special music guests, (they) will reimagine fan favourites, blending live instrumentation and rich harmonies that reflect the band’s Caribbean roots and global influence,” representatives said.

They added that this achievement underscores the band’s continued impact on the international music landscape “by celebrating Caribbean culture and creativity while expanding its reach to new audiences worldwide.”
