ERHA acknowledges supply shortages at Sangre Grande Hospital

The East­ern Re­gion­al Health Au­thor­i­ty (ER­HA) has ac­knowl­edged con­cerns over short­ages of drugs and med­ical sup­plies at the San­gre Grande Hos­pi­tal Cam­pus.

The Au­thor­i­ty said it is aware of the con­cerns and is work­ing to ad­dress sup­ply is­sues af­fect­ing the hos­pi­tal.

Health Min­is­ter Dr Lack­ram Bo­doe is al­so work­ing with of­fi­cials from the Na­tion­al In­sur­ance Prop­er­ty De­vel­op­ment Com­pa­ny (NIPDEC) to se­cure sup­plies and has ad­dressed the is­sue pub­licly.

The ER­HA said it cur­rent­ly has dial­y­sis con­sum­ables to sup­port con­tin­ued pa­tient care.

How­ev­er, it ac­knowl­edged sup­ply chain chal­lenges af­fect­ing lab­o­ra­to­ry con­sum­ables and said it con­tin­ues to en­gage sup­pli­ers to en­sure ad­e­quate sup­plies are avail­able.

The Au­thor­i­ty said all tests re­main avail­able for pa­tients who are crit­i­cal or re­quire sec­ondary care treat­ment.

The ER­HA said it re­mains com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing qual­i­ty health­care and urged pa­tients with con­cerns to con­tact its cus­tomer re­la­tions of­fi­cers, use feed­back box­es or reach out via What­sApp at 460-ER­HA (3742).

It al­so thanked its staff for con­tin­u­ing to pro­vide health­care de­spite the chal­lenges.
