Child among four killed as gunmen fire on car in Morvant

Po­lice were called to the scene of a fa­tal shoot­ing near the Mor­vant Walk-Over last night, where four peo­ple – three adults and a 10-year-old child – had been shot and killed.

While de­tails re­mained un­clear up to last night, Guardian Me­dia was in­formed that gun­men opened fire on the car around 7.30 pm along the La­dy Young Road, Mor­vant.

The iden­ti­ties of the vic­tims re­mained un­known up to press time.

A video post­ed to so­cial me­dia showed one woman scream­ing for her rel­a­tives, who were said to be in the ve­hi­cle.

Mean­while, there were un­con­firmed re­ports of a shoot­ing in Ch­aguara­mas.

Ini­tial in­for­ma­tion in­di­cat­ed that the in­ci­dent oc­curred 8 pm, fol­low­ing a boat ride. A male pa­tron was tar­get­ed.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to both shoot­ings are on­go­ing.—An­na-Lisa Paul
