With nearly two decades of legal experience, Trinidad and Tobago’s Ria Bailey has been appointed to act as a High Court Judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, sitting in Grenada from April 12.
According to a statement, Bailey previously served as Assistant Registrar and Deputy Marshal of the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago, where she performed adjudicative and administrative functions in support of the High Court.
She also held the position of Magistracy Registrar and Clerk of Court, overseeing court operations and the administration of criminal court processes.
Bailey practised privately for approximately 15 years in civil and family litigation, estate administration, conveyancing and advisory work.
Her public service includes roles as Senior Legal Officer in the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago, director of a State board, and Treasurer and Committee Member of the Assembly of Southern Lawyers.
She also served as an associate tutor at the University of the West Indies Open Campus and is a past student of Holy Faith Convent, Penal.
