A 59-year-old man of Valencia is the country's latest road fatality.
Anthony Daryl Baptiste of Don Avenue, Valencia, died on the spot when he lost control of his vehicle, crashed into a kerb wall and then the perimeter wall of an Evangelical Church along Old Valencia Road, Valencia, on Saturday evening.
He was positively identified by his neighbour.
Police said he was driving his black Mitsubishi Galant in an easterly direction along Valencia Old Road, Valencia, on Saturday evening.
At the time, he was the lone occupant of the vehicle. Upon reaching the vicinity of Oropouche Road, Valencia, Baptiste apparently lost control of his vehicle and collided with a wall and then the perimeter wall of an Evangelical Church off the southern side of the roadway.
He was thrown from the vehicle onto the roadway and sustained fatal injuries. - Ralph Banwarie
