A 26-year-old man was killed following an altercation with a 40-year-old man at School Street, Enterprise, on Thursday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Joseph Narcise, who lived in the community.

His 18-year-old younger sister, Davina Buchoon, said the two men had been involved in a longstanding feud which began after Narcise moved to Enterprise from Arima with his common-law wife and her five children.

Buchoon alleged that tensions between the men had persisted for months, with frequent exchanges of words.

She said the dispute stemmed from a disagreement that developed while Narcise was working for the older man, whom she identified.

However, she also claimed that footage showed the older man removing beer bottles from a bag and throwing them at Narcise.

During the confrontation, Narcise was stabbed, Buchoon said.

She recalled that he was still alive and gasping for breath while lying in her yard after the incident.

Police subsequently took him to a health centre, where he was pronounced dead.

Buchoon believes her brother may have died while being transported for medical attention.

The 40-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Police investigations are continuing.
