Two teens arrested after Sangre Grande home invasion

Two teenagers have been ar­rest­ed and stolen prop­er­ty re­cov­ered fol­low­ing an in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­to a home in­va­sion in San­gre Grande.

Po­lice said the home in­va­sion oc­curred be­tween 9 p.m. on Wednes­day and 6:30 a.m. on Thurs­day at Im­mortelle Cres­cent, North-East­ern Set­tle­ment.

On Fri­day, of­fi­cers of the Home In­va­sion Team went to sep­a­rate lo­ca­tions at Im­mortelle Cres­cent and Phillipville, where they found a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old, each in the pres­ence of a guardian.

Po­lice said items match­ing prop­er­ty re­port­ed stolen dur­ing the home in­va­sion, along with oth­er po­ten­tial­ly rel­e­vant items, were re­cov­ered.

The teenagers were tak­en in­to cus­tody and lat­er med­ical­ly ex­am­ined be­fore be­ing tak­en to the Ju­ve­nile Book­ing Cen­tre at the Mara­cas/St Joseph Po­lice Sta­tion.

Po­lice said their guardians ac­com­pa­nied them and that the Chil­dren’s Au­thor­i­ty and Du­ty Coun­sel were con­tact­ed.

The re­cov­ered prop­er­ty was hand­ed over to the San­gre Grande Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment for fur­ther pro­cess­ing.
