Fyzabad man held with two firearms and cocaine

A 36-year-old Fyz­abad man was ar­rest­ed and two firearms, am­mu­ni­tion and co­caine seized dur­ing an in­tel­li­gence-led op­er­a­tion in the Pe­nal and Fyz­abad dis­tricts.

The op­er­a­tion was con­duct­ed by of­fi­cers of the South West­ern Di­vi­sion be­tween 7pm and 11pm yes­ter­day.

The man, of Del­hi Road, Fyz­abad, was ar­rest­ed along Guapo Main Road dur­ing a tar­get­ed drug-block op­er­a­tion.

Of­fi­cers of the South West­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force and Pe­nal Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment searched sev­er­al drug blocks and aban­doned struc­tures dur­ing the ex­er­cise.

Po­lice said the man was charged with pos­ses­sion of firearms for the pur­pose of traf­fick­ing, name­ly a Tau­rus pis­tol and a sil­ver re­volver.

He was al­so charged with pos­ses­sion of three rounds of .38 am­mu­ni­tion and traf­fick­ing in 14.5 grammes of co­caine.

PC Ram­s­ingh is con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.

The op­er­a­tion was spear­head­ed by Snr Supt Thomp­son and Supt Jag­ger­nath and co­or­di­nat­ed by ASP Forbes, ASP Cor­rie, ASP Lewis and In­sp Prescott.
