Hadeed gets some fresh air after release

One day af­ter he and his wife were re­leased from State cus­tody, busi­ness­man Do­minic Hadeed was seen pub­licly for the first time yes­ter­day.

Un­der bright sun­ny skies, Hadeed was seen chat­ting with friends and fam­i­ly and min­gling with oth­er peo­ple who were at his Bayshore, West­moor­ings home at the time of Guardian Me­dia’s vis­it.

One of his vis­i­tors yes­ter­day was busi­ness­man An­drew Gabriel.

The Hadeeds were re­leased from the Gold­en Grove Prison in Arou­ca on Thurs­day, af­ter Min­is­ter of Home­land Se­cu­ri­ty Roger Alexan­der re­voked their Pre­ven­tive De­ten­tion Or­ders (PDOs), which arose af­ter the T&T Po­lice Ser­vice claimed to have in­tel­li­gence al­leg­ing they were con­spir­ing to mur­der the Prime Min­is­ter and se­nior Gov­ern­ment of­fi­cials.

How­ev­er, af­ter one month in cus­tody, they were re­leased with­out charge.

Hours af­ter their re­lease, they were warm­ly wel­comed back home as their chil­dren, fam­i­ly, friends and even mem­bers of the faith re­con­nect­ed with them for much of that evening well in­to the night.

Dur­ing Guardian Me­dia’s vis­it to the Hadeeds’ Pine Av­enue home yes­ter­day, work­ers were ob­served us­ing weld­ing torch­es while con­duct­ing some work on the prop­er­ty’s front gate.

Sev­er­al ve­hi­cles were al­so seen en­ter­ing and leav­ing the res­i­dence.

How­ev­er, Guardian Me­dia was told by the se­cu­ri­ty guard that Hadeed was not pre­pared to speak when a query was made.

No neigh­bours were vis­i­ble along the street at the time of Guardian Me­dia’s vis­it, as the com­mu­ni­ty re­mained gen­er­al­ly qui­et with no po­lice pres­ence.
