Municipal police rescue kidnap victim; make drug arrest

Of­fi­cers of the Ari­ma Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice ar­rest­ed a man for al­leged­ly pos­sess­ing MD­MA and res­cued a kid­nap­ping vic­tim dur­ing sep­a­rate op­er­a­tions on Sat­ur­day.

Around 7 a.m., of­fi­cers were on pa­trol in the Ari­ma Polic­ing Dis­trict when they spot­ted a man known to them along Hoyte Av­enue, Ma­tu­ri­ta.

Act­ing on in­for­ma­tion re­ceived, they searched him and al­leged­ly found pack­ets con­tain­ing about 1.9 grammes of a crys­tal-like sub­stance sus­pect­ed to be 3,4-meth­yl­ene­dioxymetham­phet­a­mine (MD­MA).

The sus­pect was ar­rest­ed, tak­en to the Ari­ma Mu­nic­i­pal Po­lice Sta­tion and charged with pos­ses­sion of a dan­ger­ous drug.

Lat­er that day, the of­fi­cers re­spond­ed to an All Points Bul­letin re­gard­ing a re­port­ed kid­nap­ping.

They went to an area in Heights of Gua­napo, near the Memisa School and the La­dy Ho­choy Home, where they found a 24-year-old man with his hands and feet bound.

The vic­tim was res­cued and tak­en to the Ari­ma Health Fa­cil­i­ty for a med­ical ex­am­i­na­tion be­fore be­ing hand­ed over to the Ari­ma Crim­i­nal In­ves­ti­ga­tions De­part­ment. In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.
