Top SEA performer in Tobago from Signal Hill

Sig­nal Hill Gov­ern­ment Pri­ma­ry School is cel­e­brat­ing af­ter it was re­vealed that the top stu­dent in To­ba­go in the Sec­ondary En­trance As­sess­ment (SEA) at­tend­ed the school.

The Di­vi­sion of Ed­u­ca­tion re­leased the top ten male and fe­male SEA stu­dents on Fri­day, with three Sig­nal Hill stu­dents fea­tur­ing among the girls.

The SEA re­sults were re­leased on­line on Thurs­day night, al­low­ing stu­dents to log in and view their place­ments for sec­ondary school.

In a change from pre­vi­ous prac­tice, the Di­vi­sion did not name the top stu­dent, in­stead con­firm­ing that the high­est per­former at­tend­ed Sig­nal Hill Gov­ern­ment Pri­ma­ry School. Based on the top ten list­ing, it could be D’Mi­ca Du­mas, Tei­jha Welling­ton or Zer­ri­ah Boyce.

In an in­ter­view with Guardian Me­dia, D’Mi­ca Du­mas said she felt elat­ed af­ter learn­ing she had se­cured a place at Bish­op’s High School. She cred­it­ed her teacher, Miss Gopaul, and her par­ents for prepar­ing her for the ex­am­i­na­tion.

Sec­re­tary of Ed­u­ca­tion Or­lan­do Kerr said his son passed for his first choice, Bish­op’s High School.
